Well, it's not what it appears....
Let me share a decorator's trick with you - add a strip of 1-inch moulding about 4 inches below your crown moulding. Then paint the wall area between the two mouldings with the same trim paint you have on your moulding.Voila - you suddenly have a much more substantial looking moulding :).
