| Supermoon over Virginia, March 19, 2011 - ButterYum |
My head is spinning from the crazy week we just had, but I'll be posting again soon. In the meantime, did you see the "Supermoon"? That's the term used for a rare phenomenon that occurs when a full moon is at its closest point to the earth. The last time we had one was almost 20 years ago.
According to NASA, a Supermoon is 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than usual. The next Supermoon will occur in 2029. See you in a few days.

Cool pic! It's pretty big and bright this morning too! Happy Sunday:@)
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! I tried getting some, but my camera just gave me a bright blur.
ReplyDeleteI missed this. I also missed you posting! I was hoping maybe there was a super moon treat recipe here! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou sure got a GREAT shot of that moon!! Wow...now I can show my hubby the "bunny" in the moon. Did you read about the trouble he got into last weekend (it's bunny related)?

I am so glad to see the Supermoon. We tried to see it, but it was too overcast here in Manteno, Illinois. You must have had a clear night:)
ReplyDeleteOH MY! I am relying on blogger photos to see the Supermoon. We had cloud cover. Awakened this morning to a light dusting of snow. Oh, Spring where art thou?
ReplyDeleteThe moon was beautiful. Great Picture!
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to see the spectacular moon but we are once again in the midst of another crazy storm. They've closed flood gates and opened the causeway. The only way I could have seen the moon was to get on an airplane.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the great info. It was too cloudy to see it here last night. Maybe tonight... Carla
ReplyDeleteYesterday here it was raining..thanks for your picture...hugs, Flavia
ReplyDeleteNice to know you see the same moon as we do! Haha!
ReplyDeleteI saw it and tok pictures too and it was awesome...Christine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I didn't see the moon where I was.
ReplyDeleteI tried to take a picture, but I don't have the right lenses. It's beautiful to see.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a knack for photography...gorgeous! We were out to dinner Saturday night; and by the time we saw the moon, it wasn't nearly this impressive~
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful moon, wasn't it? Your photo is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your congratulations! We are so thrilled over our family's new addition.
Hugs, Pat
What an incredibly beautiful and entrancing image. Thanks!

I saw it a few nights before and it seemed huge, but missed it then! We bought an inexpensive telescope a few years ago and I couldn't believe you could see the surface of the moon so well, unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet visit - hubby recommends 1/2 C. dishwasher soap run for about 15 minutes about every 90 days unless you are bathing daily and using lots of oils. If you start to get any black stuff, use 2 C. of bleach and run it through for 15 minutes, then run a rinse cycle and if it isn't all gone, repeat. (We use ours daily, we have a gorgeous rain head shower with additional hand held shower head but we have turned completely into bath people and I never use the dishwasher soap, I always wait and do the bleach one when it needs it.)
Hope that helps. (I do run a rinse after the chocolate though. Try it, it is heaven!)
It was gorgeous, wasn't it? Beautiful photo!
