Trip to England Part III

More pics from our trip to England.
Today, East and West Sussex.

Brighton Beach, England - ButterYum

The Royal Pavilion (aka Brighton Pavilion), built by the Prince of Wales in 1787 - ButterYum

Saw lots of stair risers covered in harlequin patterned tile all over England, especially in Brighton.  I really love the look.  Might have to recreate the look in my home.

Fancy and Festive :)

I don't know if there's anything special about this car or not, but after watching several men go out of their way to take a picture of it, I thought I'd better get one too.  Men - can you clue me in here?

Adorable dog sitting in the doorway of a Pub in Brighton - ButterYum

Victoria Fountain in Brighton (32 Feet tall) - ButterYum

Had to get a pic of this vehicle we passed on the motorway - notice anything unusual?

I'll finish sharing our trip to England when I post Part IV (photos will be from the end of our visit as we spent a couple of days staying at an English Manor) - trust me when I say I saved the best for last.  Until then...

  1. Lovely pictures, Patricia, you obviously saw some interesting and photo-worthy scenes while you were here. Just had to point out to you, as I live in WALES that there is no H in the spelling of our country, hope you don't mind me mentioning that! Jeannette.

  2. Good Morning Jeannette - I don't mind at all (I truly appreciate the correction, so thank you for letting me know). Have a lovely day!!

  3. By the way, I think the reason there was so much interest in the red sport's car is because of its age, it is about circa 1963, and looks very good for its age! The other car, the 3 wheeled model, is the same type as the car used by Del Boy in Fools and Horses. Have you watched any of this comedy series, it really is one of the best ever, sadly no longer made, but the BBC put out repeats which are still enjoyed no matter how many times they have been seen. Jeannette.

  4. Fabulous photos of your fabulous trip, Patricia! Makes me want to start packing!

I also LOVED the shot of all 4 baby birds with their mouths open. Fantastic photo! Well worth the sunburn. LOL

Thanks for the roasted asparagus suggestions, too. I need to get an oil spritzer! They were very popular a while ago, as I remember. Great way to cut back on calories.

BTW, I think you're doing GREAT on your NS! BRAVO!!!

  5. Oh Goodness! What beautiful pictures. Don't you just love castles. When I lived in England and Scotland it was so interesting to be driving along and all of a sudden, pop, a castle shows up in the scenery! Something we don't see here.
The harlequin steps were just fetching as was the street lamps! All I kept thinkin is, "this is so British"!
Your photography is beautiful and artistically catches England at it's best.
I have so enjoyed your tour!

  8. Beautiful pics! The puppy in the pub doorway is my fav though. How cute is that? It should be on a card. Like a missing you card. Great Britain is on my list of must sees. We were supposed to be married in England, but that is a long story. Wish we had waited now!
